DESCRIPTION:On Friday 31st May 2024\, current staff will be joined by former staff from across the High School’s illustrious past including Elmbank Street\, Garnethill and Drewsteignton as we continue to celebrate 900 years of HSOG. \nThe rich history of past and present educational achievement and success reflected in the story of the High School\, is a tribute to the endeavour\, talent\, and deep commitment of all colleagues who have walked or continue to walk the corridors of the School to this present day. In the spirit of recognition and thanks\, we hope that many current and former colleagues will take the opportunity to join us for this special occasion. \nThe evening will commence at 5pm with a Drinks Reception\, followed by musical entertainment and a buffet meal\, with the opportunity for tours of the Senior School for those who would like to see the School today. \nWhilst this event is free to attend\, please ensure you book your ticket so we may cater accordingly.

SUMMARY:Sports Homecoming Event at Old Anniesland
DESCRIPTION:We will be displaying the rich history of sporting achievement at Old Anniesland on Saturday 23rd March 2024 with a series of events and matches for current and former pupils\, parents\, staff and our wider school community. \nIt could be an opportunity for parents to play against their child\, and for former pupils to meet up once again and pull on the chocolate and gold or blue strip once more. \nHOCKEY\nThe hockey will take the format of Hockey 5’s and teams can be submitted to participate\, or you can submit your name as an individual and we can allocate you to a team. The hockey festival will run from 9.30am-12.30pm on our sand-based and water-based Astros at Old Anniesland \nRUGBY\nThe format of the rugby festival will be a 7-a-side touch rugby tournament\, allowing current pupils to play against former pupils and parent teams. This event will run from 10am-1pm on our five grass rugby pitches at Old Anniesland. As with the hockey\, teams can be submitted to participate\, or you can submit your name as an individual and we can allocate you to a team. \nWe would ask that all interested teams and individuals click on this link to complete the registration form. Food will be available on the day and the Pavilion Bar will be open from early afternoon and throughout the evening for anyone wishing to catch up with old friends. \nTours of the Senior School at Old Anniesland will also be available on the afternoon of Saturday 23rd March between 2pm-4pm for anyone who wishes to reacquaint themselves with the School buildings. \nWe hope to have a large number of teams entered to make it an event to remember!

DESCRIPTION:The High School of Glasgow London Club will be hosting its Annual London Club Reunion with a 900th twist on Friday 15th March 2024 at The Caledonian Club in the heart of London’s Belgravia. \nWith 2024 marking a momentous 900 years of HSOG\, this is the perfect opportunity to bring together members of our global School Community in celebration. \nWe’re delighted to introduce our new London Club co Presidents and hosts of this year’s Reunion: Christine Ansell (Class of 1983) and Ian Welsh (Class of 1991)\, who have taken over from Former London Club President\, Tom Kerr (Class of 2006) who held the post for a number of years and to whom we owe a great debt of gratitude for his tenure. \nThe evening will start for 6.30pm/7pm with a welcome drinks reception\, followed by a three-course dinner. Tickets cost £75 per person\, and £60 for those aged 30 or under. \nThe dress code for the evening will be highland or black tie. \nPlease note\, tickets for this event are limited\, so be sure to book early to avoid disappointment. \nWe look forward to celebrating with you!

SUMMARY:Senior School Open Evening
DESCRIPTION:At the Senior School\, the annual Open Evening normally takes place on the second Monday evening in November each year\, to give prospective parents and pupils an opportunity to see around the School. Third Year pupil guides escort visitors around classrooms and laboratories where displays and exhibits demonstrate what the School has to offer. The Rector delivers a brief introduction in the Assembly Hall and refreshments are available in the Refectory in the Jimmie Ireland Stand following the tour when staff are available to answer any questions. \nParents who have applied for places and those considering doing so are all welcome to attend the Open Evening with their children. \nParking is available in the playground beside the Sports Complex.
