Charity Golf Day 2022

15th February 2022, by HSOG Community

Returning for the first time since 2019, it is with great pleasure that we invite the HSOG Community to join us for the belated 5th Annual HSOG Charity Golf Day, to be held at Milngavie Golf Club on Friday 10 June 2022.

We look forward to bringing the HSOG Community together again after such a long time!

We hope to see a mixture of former pupils, current and former parents and friends taking part and supporting this fantastic event.

We will be raising funds in support of our Annual Fund, which, this year, is raising money for both our Bursary Fund and the redevelopment and further extension of the outdoor learning space at our Kindergarten.

How to book your team

The entry fee is £300 per team of 4. To book your team, please email the Development Office or telephone: 0141 954 9628

About the event

Former pupils, Duncan Frew and John Hannay have generously agreed to support the event once again and will provide participants with a complimentary refreshment (or two!) during their round.

If you would like to sponsor the event or donate a raffle/auction prize, please get in touch with Karen and James in the Development Office: development@hsog.co.uk

Event Information

Every participant will be welcomed to Milngavie Golf Club from 11.30am with a hot filled roll and a cup of tea/coffee as the signing in takes place in the clubhouse.

Should you wish, there will also be a glass of prosecco available before setting off on to the course at 12.30pm.

The golf will start at 1pm and everyone will be entered in to all the on-course competitions. There will be nearest the pin, longest drive and similar challenges on most holes.

After making your way back to the clubhouse and freshening up, we will have our prize-giving ceremony followed by a 2 course meal.

After the meal, competitors will be most welcome to enjoy the rest of their evening in the clubhouse.

Event Format

The competition will take the format of a Texas Scramble, with a tee off time at 1pm.

For those unfamiliar with a Texas Scramble, here is a rough outline of the rules:

All members of the team tee off. One of these drives is chosen to be used for the next shot, all members of the team place their balls where the chosen drive ended up and all the team play a second shot from this spot. From these second shots, one is chosen and all play a third shot from there – and so on until the ball is holed. Each team returns one score for each hole. The team with the lowest score for the round wins. At least four drives from every team member must be used during the course of the round. The handicap for each team will be determined by taking 1/10th of the combined four handicaps.
