Francesca Fraser

Francesca Fraser

Name: Francesca Fraser
Job: Senior Associate Director, Mediacom
Industry: Marketing
Class of: 2008
House: Clyde

What do you do?

I work for a worldwide leading digital marketing agency owned by WPP, Mediacom. I specialise in paid search marketing for the electronics and airline industry globally to help drive growth, brand awareness and revenue through online advertising.

How did you get to where you are today?

I left the High School after 13 years to study an HND in Interior Design as I had a keen interest within that industry. However, I found myself reconsidering my career path and instead discovered a passion for the events industry. From here, I went on to complete a BA Hons degree in Events Management with Italian at Edinburgh Napier University. Whilst studying, I went abroad to Bologna University where I completed 9 months of ERASMUS.

After graduating, I started working for the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, securing a place on the Mountbatten Institute Program in NYC at the same time. I chose to take the Commonwealth Games job as it was more in line with my chosen career path.

After this, I decided I wanted to break into the digital world as in 2015 it really started booming. I got a job at a full service digital agency where my biggest client was an architecture client. After 1.5 years, I took an opportunity to work at Tag Digital and moved to London in 2016. I worked at Tag Digital for 5.5 years specialising in pay per click advertising within the events industry. During this role, I focused predominantly on EMEA and US markets spending most of my time in London, Dubai and NYC.

In 2021, I moved to Mediacom where I am now.

What is a standout memory of your time at The High School of Glasgow?

Midsummer Madness, hockey and tennis trips and definitely the trips to Newlands and Raasay – what a blast!

I have fond memories of playing my saxophone in the School band as well.

What one piece of advice would you give to current pupils and recent leavers as they look to their futures?

Don’t rush any decision, take as much time as you need to decide what you want to do. Remember, you can always change your mind if something doesn’t feel right.
